Public web proxy servers are sketchy af. I used one once and got hit with a ton of pop-ups. Never again.

If you want real anonymity, Tor or a VPN is the way. ExpressVPN’s solid, but pricey.

Otherwise, you’re just praying the proxy owner isn’t a scammer.
