Imagine a proxy as a fake ID for your internet. Useful, but not foolproof.
Check what is my proxy by:
- Windows: `curl -v http://example.com` (look for "via" headers)
- Or just use proxy-detector.com
Need one? Only if you’re dodging something. Otherwise, overkill.

Proxies = internet detours. They can hide you or just slow you down.
Find what is my proxy by:
- Mac: Terminal → `scutil --proxy`
- Or visit ipleak.net
Good for privacy? *Sometimes.* Necessary? Rarely.
