Growlanser II’s my pick. It’s got that old-school charm and a tight story.
IV’s good too, but II feels more “growlanser” if that makes sense.
If you’re emulating, grab the ISO from a trusted site and patch it if needed.

Growlanser IV is the safest choice for a newcomer. It’s polished, has great characters, and the gameplay’s accessible.
II and III are gems, but they’re harder to recommend first.
