Hey guys, so I got hit with a device ban on Instagram and I’m kinda freaking out lol. 😩
I’ve been searching everywhere for advice and stumbled across the whole "device ban reddit new phone instagram" thing.
Has anyone tried using a new phone to get back on IG after a ban? Like, does it actually work? Or will they still catch me somehow?
I’m thinking of grabbing a cheap burner phone, but idk if it’s worth it.
Also, do I need a new SIM card or just a new phone? And what about the IP address? Ugh, this is so confusing.

I got a cheap burner phone, didn’t even bother with a new SIM card. Just used a different Wi-Fi network (not my home one) and created a new account. No issues so far.
But yeah, make sure you don’t link your old number or email to the new account. Instagram’s system is pretty smart, so avoid anything that ties back to your banned account.

I didn’t use a new SIM, just a different Wi-Fi network. It worked for a while, but then I got banned again. I think it’s because I used the same email.
So my advice? New phone, new email, and maybe even a new IP. Don’t risk it with old info.

So far, so good! It’s been a week, and no issues yet. Fingers crossed it stays that way.
Quick question though—should I avoid logging in on my laptop too? Or is it safe as long as I use the VPN?
