Anyone still using Proxifer? Is it still a reliable tool for routing traffic through proxies? - secureMimicX99 - 08-01-2025

Hey everyone,

So, I’ve been using proxifer for a while now to route my traffic through proxies, and it’s been pretty solid. But I’m kinda curious—is anyone still using proxifer these days?

I feel like there’s been a ton of new tools popping up, and I’m wondering if proxifer is still reliable or if it’s kinda outdated now. Like, does it still handle modern apps and protocols well? Or are there better alternatives out there?

Also, anyone run into issues with proxifer lately? I’ve had a few hiccups here and there, but nothing major. Just wanna know if it’s still worth sticking with or if I should start looking elsewhere.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts!

Hey! I still use proxifer occasionally, but tbh, it feels a bit outdated compared to newer tools. I’ve switched to using Proxyman for most of my proxy needs—it’s way more user-friendly and handles modern protocols like HTTP/3 and WebSockets without breaking a sweat.

If you’re sticking with proxifer, make sure you’re on the latest version. I’ve had some issues with older builds not playing nice with newer apps.

Proxifer is solid for basic stuff, but yeah, it’s kinda showing its age. I’ve been using Charles Proxy lately, and it’s been a game-changer for debugging and routing traffic. It’s not free, but the features are worth it if you’re doing anything beyond simple proxy routing.

Also, proxifer struggles with some newer encryption standards, so keep that in mind if you’re working with secure apps.

Honestly, I ditched proxifer a while ago. It’s reliable for basic tasks, but I found Fiddler to be way more versatile. Fiddler’s scripting support and modern protocol handling are just better for my workflow.

If you’re having hiccups with proxifer, it might be time to explore alternatives. Fiddler’s free version is pretty powerful, so it’s worth a shot!

Proxifer still works for me, but I only use it for lightweight tasks. For anything more advanced, I’ve been using mitmproxy. It’s open-source, super customizable, and handles modern protocols like a champ.

If you’re comfortable with command-line tools, mitmproxy is a great option. Otherwise, proxifer might still be okay for simpler setups.

I’ve had mixed results with proxifer lately. It’s fine for basic proxy routing, but I’ve noticed it struggles with some newer apps and protocols. I’ve been testing Burp Suite for more advanced use cases, and it’s been amazing.

Burp’s not free, but if you’re doing anything security-related, it’s worth the investment. Proxifer is still decent, but it’s definitely not the best tool out there anymore.

Proxifer is still in my toolkit, but I only use it for specific tasks. For everything else, I’ve switched to Postman’s proxy features. It’s super intuitive and integrates well with my API testing workflow.

If you’re looking for something more modern, Postman is a great option. Proxifer is reliable, but it’s not keeping up with the latest tech trends.

Thanks for all the suggestions, everyone! I’ve been testing out Proxyman and Fiddler based on your recommendations, and they’re both pretty solid so far. Proxyman’s UI is super clean, and Fiddler’s scripting is a nice bonus.

I’m still keeping proxifer around for now, but I’ll probably phase it out eventually. Anyone else tried mitmproxy? I’m curious about how it compares to the others.
