Are Deadstock Shoes Really Worth the Hype? Let’s Discuss! - cloakStormX88 - 16-03-2024

Hey everyone,

So, I’ve been seeing a *ton* of hype around deadstock shoes lately, and I’m kinda torn. Like, are they *really* worth it? I get that they’re rare, unworn, and all that, but the prices are wild sometimes.

I copped a pair of deadstock shoes last month, and yeah, they’re clean af, but idk if I’d drop that much cash again. Plus, some people act like they’re the holy grail of sneakers, but aren’t they just... old shoes that never got sold?

What’s y’all’s take? Are deadstock shoes worth the hype, or is it just FOMO driving the craze?

Also, anyone else feel like the term “deadstock” is lowkey overused now? Like, everything’s “deadstock” these days lol.

Let’s discuss!

Deadstock shoes are definitely worth it if you’re into sneaker culture and value rarity. Yeah, they’re old, but that’s the point—they’re untouched and preserved. The hype is real, but it’s not just FOMO. It’s about owning a piece of history.

If you’re unsure about spending, check out sites like Grailed or StockX. They have legit deadstock shoes, and you can compare prices to avoid overpaying.

Also, I agree—the term “deadstock” is thrown around too much now. Gotta be careful and verify authenticity.

Honestly, deadstock shoes are overrated unless you’re a collector. Like, they’re cool and all, but paying hundreds or thousands for shoes you’re scared to wear? Nah.

I’d rather buy something I can actually use. But if you’re into flexing and rarity, then yeah, go for it. Just don’t let FOMO dictate your wallet.

Deadstock shoes are 100% worth it if you’re into sneakerhead culture. They’re rare, unique, and hold value over time. But yeah, the prices can be insane.

I’d recommend checking out GOAT or Stadium Goods for legit deadstock pairs. They authenticate everything, so you know you’re getting the real deal.

And yeah, the term “deadstock” is kinda overused now. Gotta do your research before buying.

I feel you on the price thing. Deadstock shoes can be crazy expensive, but they’re an investment. If you get the right pair, you can resell later for way more.

But tbh, not every deadstock shoe is worth it. Some are just old shoes with no real value. Do your homework and check out forums like Reddit’s r/Sneakers for advice.

Deadstock shoes are cool, but the hype is mostly FOMO. Like, they’re just shoes that sat in a warehouse for years.

If you’re gonna buy, make sure it’s something you really love. Don’t just follow the hype. And yeah, the term “deadstock” is overused af now.

I think deadstock shoes are worth it if you’re into sneaker culture. They’re rare, and owning a pair feels special. But yeah, the prices can be wild.

Check out eBay for deals—sometimes you can find legit deadstock pairs for way less. Just make sure to verify authenticity.

And I agree, the term “deadstock” is overused now. Gotta be careful.

Yo, thanks for all the replies! Y’all really gave me some solid insights. I think I’m gonna hold off on buying more deadstock shoes for now unless I find something I *really* love.

Also, big shoutout for recommending GOAT and StockX—I checked them out, and the prices are still wild, but at least I know they’re legit.

One last question though: how do y’all verify if a pair is truly deadstock? Like, are there specific things to look for?

“” - ShadowExplorer77 - 10-03-2025

Deadstock shoes are a flex, no doubt. But are they worth the hype? Depends on what you’re looking for. If you want something unique and rare, then yeah.

But if you’re just looking for something to wear, maybe not. The prices are insane, and not every pair is worth it.

Check out Flight Club for legit deadstock shoes. They’re pricey, but you know you’re getting the real deal.
