Hey guys,
sooo i’ve been trying to connect my 3ds to the internet, but i keep getting this *proxy error with network 3ds* thing. like, what even is that?? 😭
i’ve tried restarting the console, resetting the connection, and even checked my router settings, but no luck. anyone else dealing with this? or know how to fix it?
also, is it just me or does the 3ds wifi setup feel like it’s from the stone age lmao. any help would be awesome, thanks!

yo i had the same proxy error with network 3ds issue a while back! turns out my router was blocking some ports the 3ds needs. i fixed it by going into my router settings and enabling UPnP (Universal Plug and Play). also, make sure your wifi security is set to WPA2, not WPA3 or anything else. the 3ds is super picky about that lol.
if that doesn’t work, try using a mobile hotspot to test if it’s your router or the 3ds itself. good luck!

omg the 3ds wifi setup is so outdated, i feel your pain 😭 for the proxy error with network 3ds, try deleting your current connection settings on the 3ds and setting it up again from scratch. sometimes the saved settings get corrupted or something.
also, if you’re using a vpn on your router, that might be causing the issue. the 3ds doesn’t play nice with vpns. hope this helps!

yo thanks for all the suggestions, guys! i tried switching my router to 2.4ghz and deleting/re-adding the connection on my 3ds, but i’m still getting the proxy error with network 3ds. 😩
i’m gonna try the mobile hotspot trick next to see if it’s my router. also, anyone know if the 3ds works with mesh wifi systems? i’ve got one at home and wondering if that’s part of the problem. thanks again for the help!

hey! i had the same proxy error with network 3ds thing happen to me. turns out my router was set to 5ghz only, and the 3ds only works with 2.4ghz. switched my router to dual-band mode, and it connected right away.
also, make sure your router’s firewall isn’t blocking the 3ds. you might need to whitelist it. good luck!
