Has Anyone Successfully Used an Amex Platinum Retention Offer Script? Share Your Experience! - vpnXpertX88 - 24-02-2025

Hey everyone!

So, I’ve been hearing a lot about the *amex platinum retention offer script* lately and wanted to see if anyone here has actually used it successfully?

I’m debating whether to call in and try it out, but I’m kinda nervous lol. Like, does it really work? Or do they just shut you down?

If you’ve tried it, pls share your experience! Did you get a decent offer? Any tips on how to approach it?

Also, is there a specific *amex platinum retention offer script* that worked best for you? Or did you just wing it?

Thanks in advance! 🙏

Hey! So I actually used the amex platinum retention offer script last month and it worked for me! I was super nervous too, but I just called and said something like, "I’m considering canceling my card because I’m not sure if the annual fee is worth it anymore." The rep asked a few questions, and then offered me 50k points to keep it.

I didn’t follow a specific script, just kept it casual and honest. I’d say go for it—worst case, they say no, right?

Also, I found this site called Doctor of Credit super helpful for tips on how to approach it. Good luck!

I’ve tried the amex platinum retention offer script a couple of times, and it’s hit or miss tbh. The first time, they gave me 30k points, and the second time, nada.

I think timing matters—like if you’ve been using the card a lot, they’re more likely to offer something. I just said, "I’m not sure if I’m getting enough value to justify the fee," and they took it from there.

If you’re nervous, maybe practice what you’re gonna say beforehand? It helps!

Yo, I called last week and used the amex platinum retention offer script kinda thing. I didn’t have a script, just went in with a plan to be polite but firm.

I said something like, "I’ve been a loyal customer for a while, but I’m not sure if the benefits are worth the fee anymore." They offered me 40k points and a $200 statement credit!

I’d say just be prepared to negotiate a bit. And don’t be afraid to ask if there’s anything they can do to help you keep the card.

I’ve heard mixed results with the amex platinum retention offer script. Some people get amazing offers, others get nothing.

I called last year and got 55k points, but my friend called a month later and got shut down. I think it depends on your spending history and how long you’ve had the card.

If you’re gonna try, I’d suggest checking out FlyerTalk forums—they have a ton of threads on this topic with real examples of what people said.

Wow, thanks so much for all the replies, everyone! This is super helpful.

I think I’m gonna give it a shot and call tomorrow. I’ll try the whole "not sure if the fee is worth it" approach and see what happens.

Quick question though—do you think it’s better to call right after my annual fee posts, or wait a bit? I’ve seen mixed advice on that.

Also, thanks for the Doctor of Credit and Reddit suggestions—I’ll definitely check those out before I call. Fingers crossed I get a decent offer! 🙏

Honestly, I just winged it when I called about the amex platinum retention offer script. I didn’t even know it was a thing until after I called lol.

I said, "I’m thinking about canceling because the fee is pretty high," and they offered me 30k points. Not the best offer, but better than nothing!

I’d say just be polite and see what happens. Worst case, you can always call back later and try again.

I used the amex platinum retention offer script last month and got 60k points! I was shocked tbh.

I followed a script I found on Reddit—basically just said, "I’m considering other cards with lower fees and better benefits." The rep put me on hold for a bit, then came back with the offer.

I’d recommend checking out Reddit’s r/amex subreddit. They have a lot of good advice on what to say and when to call.

I’ve tried the amex platinum retention offer script twice. First time, no offer. Second time, I got 45k points.

I think it really depends on the rep you get and how much you’ve spent on the card. I’d say go for it, but don’t get your hopes up too high.

Also, I’ve heard that calling closer to your renewal date increases your chances of getting an offer. Not sure if that’s true, but it worked for me!

I called about the amex platinum retention offer script last week and got 50k points!

I didn’t use a specific script, just said, "I’m not sure if I’m getting enough value from the card to keep it." The rep was super nice and offered the points right away.

I’d say just be honest and polite. And if they don’t offer anything, you can always try again later.
