Hey everyone,
Is anyone else having issues with the Words app redirecting to Brave browser? It’s been happening to me for the past couple of days, and it’s driving me nuts.
I’ll be in the middle of something, and suddenly *poof*—it just switches over to Brave. No warning or anything. I’ve tried reinstalling the app, but no luck.
Anyone know what’s up with this? Is it a bug or something on their end? Or maybe it’s just me? Lmk if you’ve got any fixes or if you’re dealing with the same thing.

Yo, I had this exact problem with the Words app redirecting to Brave browser last week. Super frustrating, right?
Turns out, it was a setting in Brave called “Open links in associated apps” that was causing it. I disabled it, and the issue stopped. Go to Brave settings > Privacy and security > Site settings > Additional permissions > Open links in associated apps. Toggle it off and see if that helps.

Same issue here with the Words app redirecting to Brave browser. It’s so random and annoying.

Hey, I had this problem too! The Words app redirecting to Brave browser was such a pain.
I fixed it by going into Brave’s settings and turning off “Make Brave my default browser.” Then I set Chrome as my default instead. After that, the redirects stopped.
If you don’t wanna switch browsers, you could also try resetting the Words app permissions in your device settings. Sometimes apps get a little wonky with permissions.

I’ve been seeing a lot of posts about the Words app redirecting to Brave browser lately. It’s definitely not just you.
I think it might be a bug in the latest update of either app. I rolled back to an older version of Brave, and the issue went away. If you’re comfortable with it, you can try downloading an older APK of Brave (make sure it’s from a trusted source).
Alternatively, you could try using a different app for a while until they fix it. Grammarly or Google Docs might be good alternatives.

Thanks for all the suggestions, everyone! I tried clearing the cache and resetting the default apps, but it didn’t work. I’ll give the Brave settings tweak a shot next.
Also, I reached out to the Words app support team, and they said they’re aware of the issue and working on a fix. Fingers crossed it gets resolved soon.
In the meantime, I’ll try using Grammarly as a backup. Thanks again for all the help!
