"Is ipip.net still reliable for IP data these days?"
Hey folks, been using ipip.net for a while now, but lately I’ve noticed some inconsistencies. Like, it’ll get the country right but the city is way off.
Anyone else experiencing this? Or is it just me?
Also, how does it stack up against other services now? I remember it used to be super accurate, but idk if that’s still the case.
Kinda debating whether to stick with it or switch. Thoughts?
(Ps. If you’ve tried their paid version, is it *that* much better? Or nah?)

Yeah, I’ve noticed ipip.net slipping a bit too. The free version seems outdated, especially for city-level data.
If you’re looking for alternatives, MaxMind’s GeoIP2 is pretty solid. Their paid version is worth it if you need accuracy.
Also, check out IPinfo.io—they’ve got a free tier and their data’s been reliable for me.
Kinda sad tho, ipip.net used to be the go-to.

ipip.net’s paid version is *way* better than the free one, but tbh, it’s still hit or miss.
I switched to DB-IP.com last year and haven’t looked back. Their free API is decent, and the paid plans are affordable.
If you’re just checking IPs manually, whatismyipaddress.com is a quick fix.
But yeah, ipip.net ain’t what it used to be.

Honestly, ipip.net’s still okay for basic stuff, but if you need pinpoint accuracy, it’s not the best.
I’ve been using IP2Location lately—their database is super detailed, and they update it frequently.
The free version of ipip.net is kinda meh now. Paid might be better, but why bother when there are better options?

Same here! ipip.net’s city data is whack sometimes.
Try IPGeolocation.io—their free tier is generous, and the accuracy is on point.
Also, if you’re into self-hosting, MaxMind’s GeoLite2 is free and works well.
ipip.net’s glory days might be over, lol.

ipip.net’s paid version is *alright*, but not worth the hype.
I’ve had better luck with AbstractAPI’s IP geolocation. Their free plan is solid, and the docs are easy to follow.
If you’re stuck with ipip.net, maybe try clearing your cache? Sometimes that fixes weird results.

Man, ipip.net used to be my jam, but lately it’s been kinda unreliable.
For free stuff, IPAPI.com is a good alternative. Their responses are fast, and the data’s accurate.
If you’re willing to pay, MaxMind’s the way to go.

ipip.net’s free tier is basically useless for anything beyond country-level.
I’ve been using IPligence for a while now—their data’s fresh, and the pricing is fair.
Also, if you’re just testing, the built-in geolocation in Cloudflare’s dashboard is surprisingly good.

Still kinda bummed about ipip.net tho—used to love it.
Anyone know if they’ve mentioned updates or fixes coming soon? Or is it time to fully move on?
