How do I set up a proxy in Chrome browser for better privacy? or What's the best way to use a proxy i - HyperGhostX - 23-06-2024

"Help! My proxy in Chrome browser keeps disconnecting – any fixes?"

Hey guys,

So I set up a proxy in chrome browser to keep things a bit more private, but it keeps dropping randomly. Like, one minute it’s fine, next minute—poof—no connection.

I’m using a free one (yeah, I know, probably my first mistake lol). But still, shouldn’t it at least stay connected?

Tried restarting Chrome, even my PC, but no luck. Anyone else deal with this?

Also, is there a better way to set up a proxy in chrome browser? Maybe an extension or something?

Thanks in advance!

(PS: If this is the wrong section, my bad—pls point me in the right direction!)

Free proxies are super unreliable, man. They overload their servers and kick users off randomly.

Try switching to a paid one like NordVPN or ProtonVPN—they have proxy in chrome browser options that stay stable.

Also, check if your IP is leaking with a site like ipleak.net. Might be a config issue.

lol yeah free proxies are trash. They disconnect all the time cuz too many people use em.

If u wanna stick with free, try Hide.me or Windscribe’s free plan. Still not perfect but better than random ones.

Or just use a VPN extension in Chrome instead—way fewer drops.

Hey! Had the same issue last week. Turns out Chrome’s proxy settings reset sometimes.

Go to chrome://settings/system and make sure “Use a proxy server” is locked in.

If it keeps happening, try a proxy extension like Proxy SwitchyOmega. Gives u more control over proxy in chrome browser.

Free proxies = pain. They’re slow, unstable, and sometimes sketchy.

If privacy’s the goal, just use Tor Browser. No proxy in chrome browser needed, and it’s built for anonymity.

Otherwise, pay for a decent VPN. Worth the few bucks.

Bro, free proxies are like a public toilet—overused and gross.

Try SmartProxy or Luminati if u need a rotating proxy in chrome browser. Paid, but way more reliable.

Or just use incognito mode + a VPN. Less hassle.

Check your internet connection first! Sometimes it’s not the proxy in chrome browser but your Wi-Fi acting up.

If that’s fine, switch to a paid proxy like Oxylabs. Free ones disconnect constantly cuz they’re overcrowded.

Thanks for all the tips, guys! Didn’t realize free proxies were this bad.

Tried Proxy SwitchyOmega and it’s way better—no random drops yet.

Quick Q: Anyone know if using a proxy in chrome browser slows down speeds? Mine feels laggy now.

Ugh, been there. Free proxies are a nightmare.

Try manually setting the proxy in Chrome instead of using an auto-config. Sometimes the PAC file glitches.

Settings > Advanced > System > Open proxy settings. Hardcode it there.

If you’re using a proxy in chrome browser for privacy, maybe try a VPN instead?

Extensions like TunnelBear or CyberGhost are easier to manage and won’t drop as much.

Free proxies are basically unusable for real browsing.
