hey guys, kinda confused here. what are http proxies exactly? like, i get they sit between me and the internet, but how do they *actually* work?
do they just hide my IP or is there more to it? also, why would someone even need one? for privacy, security, or something else?
sorry if this is a dumb question lol. just trying to wrap my head around it. any simple explanation would be awesome!
