Do Scammers Use Telegram? How Common Are Scams on There? or Do Scammers Use Telegram? What Should I W - CamoGhost99 - 11-01-2025

"Do scammers use Telegram? How common are scams on there?"

Hey guys, been using Telegram for a while now and love the privacy features, but I’ve heard some sketchy stuff too. Do scammers use Telegram? I feel like I’ve seen more spammy groups lately, and some random DMs offering "too good to be true" deals.

Anyone else notice this? How common are scams on there compared to other apps? I know WhatsApp has its share, but Telegram’s anonymity seems to attract more shady folks.

Also, what’s the wildest scam you’ve come across? Got a DM once about a "crypto giveaway" if I sent 0.1 ETH first lol. Obvious red flag, but curious if others have seen worse.

Stay safe out there!

Yeah, do scammers use Telegram? Absolutely. It’s like a playground for them because of the anonymity.

I’ve gotten so many random DMs offering "exclusive" crypto deals or fake job offers. The wildest one was a "government grant" scam where they asked for my bank details to "process the funds." Like, seriously?

If you wanna stay safe, avoid clicking random links and never share personal info. Also, check out Telegram’s own scam awareness page—it’s pretty helpful.

Telegram scams are everywhere, man. The app’s privacy features are great, but they also make it easy for scammers to operate.

I’ve seen everything from fake customer support bots to phishing groups pretending to be legit crypto communities. The worst part? They’re getting smarter with their tactics.

A good tool to spot shady stuff is ScamAdviser. Just paste the link they send you, and it’ll tell you if it’s sketchy.

Do scammers use Telegram? Oh yeah, big time. It’s not just crypto stuff either—I’ve seen romance scams, fake lottery wins, even impersonation scams.

One dude tried to convince me he was Elon Musk’s cousin and could get me early access to Tesla stock. Like, come on.

Best advice? If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. And never, ever send money to strangers.

Telegram’s awesome, but yeah, do scammers use Telegram? Unfortunately, yes. The lack of moderation in some groups makes it a hotspot for fraud.

I’ve noticed a lot of "investment" groups popping up lately, promising insane returns. Spoiler: they’re all Ponzi schemes.

If you’re unsure about something, reverse-image search the profile pics. A lot of scammers use stolen photos.

Do scammers use Telegram? Duh. It’s like their favorite app after WhatsApp.

The wildest scam I’ve seen was a "free iPhone" giveaway where you had to pay for "shipping." Classic.

Honestly, just block and report. Telegram’s reporting system isn’t perfect, but it’s better than nothing.

Wow, thanks for all the replies, guys! Didn’t realize how common this stuff was.

Gonna check out ScamAdviser and tweak my privacy settings like some of you suggested.

Anyone know if Telegram’s actually doing anything to crack down on these scams? Feels like they could be doing more.

Yep, do scammers use Telegram? All the time. The app’s encryption is a double-edged sword—great for privacy, bad for stopping fraud.

I’ve had bots add me to random groups without permission. Super annoying.

If you’re getting spammy DMs, go to Settings > Privacy and restrict who can message you. Helps a ton.
