"Are Mobile Proxies Really Better for Avoiding Detection Compared to Residential Proxies?"

Hey guys, been testing out mobile proxies lately and wanna know what y'all think.

Like, they’re supposed to be harder to detect since they’re coming from actual mobile IPs, right? But are they *that* much better than residential proxies?

I’ve heard some ppl say they’re the GOAT for sneaker copping and scraping, but others say they’re overhyped.

Also, they’re kinda pricey… so is it worth it? Or am I better off sticking with residential?

Drop your experiences below! 👇

Mobile proxies are def harder to detect since they’re tied to real mobile carriers, which makes them look more legit than residential IPs.

But tbh, it depends on what you’re using them for. Sneaker bots? Yeah, they’re clutch because sites like Footlocker or Yeezy Supply flag residential proxies faster.

For scraping, tho, residential might still work if you rotate IPs properly. Check out Luminati or Smartproxy for solid options.

Price is the main downside—mobile proxies are expensive af. If you’re on a budget, maybe stick with residential and tweak your setup.

From my experience, mobile proxies are overkill unless you’re dealing with super strict anti-bot systems.

Most sites won’t even notice if you’re using a good residential proxy with clean IPs. I’ve had success with Oxylabs for scraping without getting blocked.

But if you’re into high-stuff like limited drops, then yeah, mobile IPs can give you an edge. Just don’t expect miracles—it’s not a magic bullet.

Yo, mobile proxies are legit for avoiding detection, but only if you’re targeting sites that aggressively block datacenter/residential IPs.

I’ve used Blazing SEO’s mobile proxies for Shopify bots, and they work way better than residential. Less bans, more success.

But if you’re just doing basic scraping or browsing, save your cash. Residential proxies like those from GeoSurf do the job fine.

Mobile proxies are *technically* better since they mimic real users on cellular networks, but the difference isn’t always huge.

I’ve tested both for ad verification, and mobile IPs got flagged less, but residential still worked 80% of the time.

If you’re tight on funds, go residential. But if you need that extra stealth, mobile is worth the splurge. Try Proxy-Cheap for affordable options.

Honestly, mobile proxies are overrated unless you’re doing something super niche.

Most sites don’t care if your IP is residential or mobile as long as you’re not spamming. I’ve scraped Amazon with residential IPs (from Storm Proxies) for months with no issues.

Save your money unless you’re hitting crazy anti-bot measures.

Mobile proxies are fire for sneaker copping, no cap.

Residential IPs get cooked way faster on sites like Supreme or Nike. I switched to MobileProxy.space and my success rate went up like 30%.

But yeah, they’re pricey. If you’re just starting, maybe test with residential first.

It really comes down to the site you’re targeting. Some platforms have insane detection for residential proxies but whitelist mobile IPs by default.

I’ve had mixed results—sometimes mobile proxies are a game-changer, other times they’re no better.

For tools, check out Soax or Shifter—they offer both types so you can compare.

Thanks for all the input, guys!

Based on what y’all said, I’m gonna test mobile proxies for sneaker bots and stick with residential for general scraping.

Anyone got a rec for a cheap but reliable mobile proxy provider? Heard some horror stories about drops mid-session, so wanna avoid that.

Also, does rotating mobile IPs too fast trigger bans? Seen mixed answers on this.
