So I was cleaning out some old hard drives and stumbled on a Borlands IDE from like... 2005? lol. Got me wondering—what even happened to borlands?
I remember they were huge back in the day, especially with Delphi and Turbo Pascal. But now? Feels like they just vanished. Are they still around, or did they get swallowed up by bigger fish?
Anyone still using borlands tools in 2024? Or are we all just nostalgic for the good ol’ days?
Kinda curious if their stuff holds up or if it’s all legacy code at this point. Share your thoughts!

Oh man, borlands takes me back! They’re still around but under a different name—Embarcadero Technologies. They bought borlands’ dev tools like Delphi and C++Builder.
Delphi’s actually still kicking in 2024, especially for legacy systems. Some folks even use it for new projects because of its RAD (Rapid Application Development) features.
If you’re curious, check out Embarcadero’s site. They’ve got modern versions of the old borlands tools. Not as popular as VS or JetBrains, but definitely not dead!
