Hey guys,
So I was just browsing and noticed something weird—this Chrome extension pulling Google search data in the background. Like, I didn’t even realize it was doing that until I checked the permissions again.
Has anyone else run into this? I’m not super techy, but it feels sketchy. Like, why does it *need* my search data?
Also, is there a way to check *what* it’s actually collecting? Or am I just being paranoid?

Yeah, I’ve seen this too! Some Chrome extensions pulling Google search data can be sneaky.
Check the permissions before installing—if it says "read and change all your data on websites you visit," that’s a red flag.
Try *Extension Privacy Checker* (Chrome Web Store) to see what data they access. Also, *uBlock Origin* helps block shady trackers.

omg this happened to me last week! I installed some "productivity" extension and later found it was logging my searches.
Totally sketch.
I used *Chrome’s Task Manager* (shift+esc) to see which extensions were using resources. Deleted it right after.

Not paranoid at all! Chrome extension pulling Google search data is a real privacy concern.
Go to *chrome://extensions/*, enable "Developer mode," and check the "Inspect views" for background activity.
Also, *Privacy Badger* by EFF can help block hidden trackers.

I checked with *Extension Privacy Checker* and yeah, that extension was definitely snooping. Uninstalled it ASAP.
