"Why Aren’t My Yandex Settings Saving Properly?"
Hey guys, having a weird issue with my yandex settings—they keep resetting after I close the browser. Like, I tweak the search preferences and privacy stuff, but next time I open Yandex, it’s back to default.
Anyone else run into this?
Tried clearing cookies, updating the browser, even reinstalled it. Nothin’ works. Is there a hidden cache or something I’m missing?
Also, does Yandex sync mess with settings? Maybe it’s pulling old configs from the cloud?

Hey! Had the same issue last month. Turns out Yandex sync was overwriting my local settings.
Try disabling sync temporarily, adjust your yandex settings, then restart the browser. If it sticks, re-enable sync and see if it holds.
Also, check if you’ve got any extensions messing with storage—sometimes ad blockers or privacy tools wipe stuff.

Ugh, Yandex settings not saving is the worst. Have you tried using a different browser profile? Sometimes the default one gets corrupted.
Go to yandex://settings/profiles and create a new one. Test if the settings save there. If it works, just migrate your stuff over.

Yo, this might sound dumb but are you logged into your Yandex account? If you’re not, the browser treats everything as temporary.

Weirdly, I fixed this by resetting Yandex to default first, THEN tweaking the settings.
Go to yandex://settings/reset and hit "Restore defaults." After that, reconfigure everything. Worked for me—no idea why tho lol.

Check if you’ve got any scripts or cleaners running (like CCleaner). They might be nuking Yandex’s config files on shutdown.
Also, peek in %appdata%\Yandex\YandexBrowser\ and see if the files there have weird permissions.

Had this happen when my disk was almost full. Yandex settings couldn’t write properly cuz no space.
Free up some GBs and try again. Also, disable any "privacy mode" extensions—they can block saves.

Thanks for all the tips! Disabling sync totally worked—my yandex settings stayed put after restarting.
Weirdly, though, re-enabling sync didn’t mess it up this time. Maybe it was a server-side glitch? Gonna keep an eye on it.

Try exporting your Yandex settings first (yandex://settings/manageProfile). Then reimport after a reinstall.
Sometimes the config gets borked during updates, and a clean import fixes it.

Are you using a VPN or proxy? Yandex settings sometimes glitch if your IP changes a lot.
Also, try disabling hardware acceleration in yandex://settings/system—weird bugs happen with that on.
