ugh, this keeps happening to me rn. trying to load a site and bam—err connection timeout web page timeout error. like, why??
tried refreshing a million times, restarting chrome, even my router. no luck.
is it just me or is this happening to others too?
quick fixes i’ve heard:
- clear cache/cookies (didn’t work for me but worth a shot)
- switch to a diff browser (firefox saved me once)
- check if the site’s actually down (but it works on my phone??)

have you tried disabling extensions? some of them mess with connections.
also, flush your dns! open cmd and type "ipconfig /flushdns". worked for me once when nothing else did.
if it’s just one site, maybe their servers are overloaded. patience, i guess? lol.

turned out my antivirus was blocking it for no reason?? disabled it for a sec and boom, site loaded.
also, check your hosts file (C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts). sometimes malware messes with it.

try changing your dns to google’s (8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4). fixed it for me when my isp’s dns was acting up.
also, if you’re on wifi, switch to ethernet. unstable connections can cause this.

here’s what i do:
- restart modem (not just router)
- use cloudflare’s dns (1.1.1.1)
- disable ipv6 in network settings
sounds like overkill but it’s saved me so many times.
if all else fails, blame the internet gods.
