Hey guys,
Sooo I messed around with some proxy settings earlier (don’t ask why lol) and now my internet’s acting weird. I think I need to turn off the proxy server, but I’m not sure how to do it *properly*.
I’m on Windows 10, btw. Tried googling "how to turn off the proxy server," but the steps I found didn’t seem to work? Or maybe I missed something.
Anyone got a simple fix for this? Like, step-by-step? Would really appreciate it—kinda driving me nuts here!

lol been there. If the usual steps aren’t working, try this:
- Open Registry Editor (careful!!)
- Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
- Set "ProxyEnable" to 0
But tbh, just use a tool like CCleaner to wipe proxy settings if you’re not comfy with regedit.

Wait, did you accidentally enable a script for proxy settings? Check "Automatic setup" in Proxy settings too. Sometimes that’s the culprit.

Yo, had this exact problem! Turns out my work VPN was forcing a proxy. If you’re using one, disconnect it first.
