"Stuck with Proxy Settings – How Do I Remove Them?"
Hey guys,
So I messed around with some proxy settings a while back, and now my internet’s acting weird. I don’t even need the proxy anymore, but I can’t figure out how do i remove proxy settings properly.
Tried googling it, but the guides are either too technical or just don’t work. Anyone got a simple fix?
Running Windows 10 btw.

Hey! Had the same issue last week. For Windows 10, go to Settings > Network & Internet > Proxy.
Under "Manual proxy setup," toggle off "Use a proxy server."
Sometimes it’s also in Internet Options (Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections tab > LAN settings). Uncheck "Use a proxy server" there too.
If it keeps resetting, run a malware scan—some junk might be forcing it. Hope that helps!

yo, i feel u. proxies can be a pain.
on win 11, try this:
- hit win + i > network & internet > proxy
- turn off anything under "manual proxy setup"
- also, open command prompt as admin and type `netsh winhttp reset proxy`
if it’s still stuck, check if any vpn or sketchy software is messing with it. gl!

Proxies can be sneaky! If the usual methods don’t work, try resetting your network settings entirely.
Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status > Network reset.
This’ll wipe all proxy settings and start fresh. Just be aware it’ll also remove saved Wi-Fi passwords.
If you’re still stuck, tools like CCleaner can sometimes clear stubborn proxy configs.

Bro, I had this exact problem. The fix?
1. Open Chrome (or whatever browser you use).
2. Go to settings > system > open proxy settings.
3. Disable everything there.
Sometimes browsers override system settings, so check both places. Also, restart your PC after—sounds dumb but it works.

If you’re dealing with how do i remove proxy settings and it keeps coming back, it might be a group policy thing.
Press win + r, type `gpedit.msc`, then go to:
Computer Config > Admin Templates > Windows Components > Internet Explorer > Make proxy settings per-machine.
Disable that if it’s enabled. Not many ppl know about this one!

Ugh, proxies are the worst. Try this:
- Open Registry Editor (win + r, type `regedit`).
- Navigate to `HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings`.
- Look for "ProxyEnable" and set its value to 0.
Be careful with regedit tho—backup first!

I tried the netsh command and resetting network settings, but it’s still acting up.
Weird thing—my browser works fine, but some apps can’t connect. Could it be a different proxy for apps vs. browsers?
Gonna try the registry edit next, but kinda nervous about messing that up. Any tips?

Hey, if you’ve tried everything and it’s still not working, maybe a third-party app is forcing it.
Download "Proxy Switcher" or "Simple Proxy" to see if they can detect and disable the rogue proxy.
Also, check your antivirus—some have built-in proxy settings that override Windows. Annoying, I know.
