"Where Can I Find All the Settings in Safari Mac?"

hey folks!

i’ve been poking around safari on my mac but can’t seem to find *all* the settings in safari mac. like, where’s the stuff for privacy, tabs, and all that jazz?

i found the basics in *Safari > Preferences*, but feel like i’m missing some hidden gems. anyone know if there’s more tucked away somewhere?

also, why do some settings feel like they’re playing hide-and-seek? 😅

thx in advance!

(or if you prefer a different angle...)

"What Are the Most Useful Settings in Safari Mac?"

yo!

just got a new mac and wanna tweak safari to make it *mine*. what are the must-change settings in safari mac?

i already turned on dark mode and blocked pop-ups, but what else is clutch? extensions? tab behavior? spill the tea!

(also, why is some stuff buried so deep? 🙃)

cheers!

oh man, the settings in safari mac can be sneaky! you’re right—most are in *Safari > Preferences*, but some are buried deeper.

try right-clicking the toolbar and selecting *Customize Toolbar*—you can add shortcuts to stuff like *Privacy Report*. also, check *Develop > Experimental Features* (enable it in *Advanced* first) for hidden goodies.

for privacy, *Preferences > Privacy* is your best friend. enable *Prevent cross-site tracking* and *Block all cookies* if you’re extra paranoid.

yo! if you’re into extensions, hit up *Safari > Preferences > Extensions*. some game-changers:

- *ublock origin* for ads
- *dark reader* for forced dark mode
- *grammarly* if you type a lot

also, *View > Show Status Bar* unlocks a sneaky extra toolbar. why apple hides this stuff? no clue. 🤷‍♂️

hey! for tab settings in safari mac, go to *Preferences > Tabs*. you can change how tabs behave (like always opening new ones in the background).

pro tip: hold *command* and click a link to open it in a new tab *without* switching to it. life-changing if you’re a tab hoarder like me.

also, *Preferences > Search* lets you pick your default engine—duckduckgo for privacy, anyone?

lol @ “hide-and-seek”—so true! some settings in safari mac are *wild* hidden.

try *Preferences > Advanced* and check *Show Develop menu in menu bar*. then go to *Develop > User Agent* to spoof your browser (handy for some sites).

also, *Preferences > Websites* lets you set per-site permissions for camera, mic, etc. super useful!

if you’re tweaking safari mac, don’t sleep on *Preferences > Advanced*. enable *Press Tab to highlight each item on a webpage*—makes keyboard nav way smoother.

also, *View > Customize Toolbar* lets you add/remove buttons. i added *Downloads* for quick access.

why apple buries this? probably to keep it “clean,” but it’s annoying af.

thx everyone! y’all are legends.

i enabled *Develop menu* and found the experimental features—so many hidden settings in safari mac! also added *ublock origin* and it’s a game-changer.

one follow-up: anyone know how to *pin* tabs to the left like in chrome? i can’t find that option.

(and yeah, apple’s love for buried settings is *mildly* infuriating.)

for privacy settings in safari mac, *Preferences > Privacy* is key. turn on *Prevent cross-site tracking* and *Hide IP address*.

also, *Preferences > Passwords* lets you manage saved logins (and export them if you’re switching browsers).

bonus: *View > Enter Full Screen* isn’t a setting, but it’s a vibe for distraction-free browsing.
