Is a browser in browser proxy the best way to browse securely and privately? or How reliable is a bro - SecureSeeker77 - 17-04-2024

"Does a browser in browser proxy actually improve anonymity online?"

Okay, so I’ve been messing around with a browser in browser proxy lately, and I’m kinda skeptical. Like, sure, it *feels* more private because you’re nesting your browsing inside another layer... but is it really hiding your tracks?

I mean, your OG IP is still out there, right? Unless the proxy itself is solid (and let’s be real, most free ones are sketchy), you’re just adding extra steps without much payoff.

Plus, some sites straight-up block these proxies, so you’re not even getting past restrictions half the time.

Anyone else tried this? Am I missing something or is it just placebo privacy? 🤔

(Also, why does "browser in browser proxy" sound like some kinda tech inception? 😂)

Honestly, a browser in browser proxy is more about convenience than real anonymity. It might help bypass simple blocks, but if you're serious about privacy, you need a proper VPN or Tor.

Free proxies? Nah, they log your data and sell it. Try Mullvad VPN or ProtonVPN if you want actual security.

And yeah, the whole "tech inception" thing is funny until you realize it's just extra lag for no real benefit.

I’ve used a few browser in browser proxy setups, and tbh, they’re hit or miss. Some work fine for streaming geo-blocked content, but for anonymity? Not really.

Your IP can still leak if the proxy isn’t configured right. Plus, JavaScript can expose your real location.

If you wanna stay hidden, Tor Browser is way better. Or just use a paid VPN with a kill switch.

Lol, browser in browser proxy sounds like putting a hat on a hat. Feels private, but is it? Nope.

Most of these proxies don’t encrypt traffic, so your ISP (or anyone snooping) can still see what you’re doing.

For real privacy, check out Tails OS or Whonix. Overkill? Maybe, but at least it works.

The idea of a browser in browser proxy is cool, but execution matters. If the proxy itself is trash, you’re just adding extra steps for no reason.

Some sites detect and block these proxies instantly. If you’re gonna use one, at least pick a reputable service like Psiphon or Hola (but even Hola has sketchy rep).

Still, VPN + Tor combo is the gold standard.

Bro, browser in browser proxy is like wearing a disguise... but everyone still recognizes you.

Unless the proxy is high-quality (and most free ones aren’t), you’re just slowing yourself down.

Try Windscribe VPN or NordVPN if you want actual privacy. Or just go full Tor if you’re paranoid.

Yeah, browser in browser proxy is kinda placebo privacy. It might hide your traffic from your local network, but not from the wider internet.

Free proxies are risky—some inject ads or malware. If you must use one, at least test for leaks with ipleak.net.

For real anonymity, Tor or a no-logs VPN is the way.

I get the appeal of a browser in browser proxy, but it’s not a magic cloak. Your IP is still exposed if the proxy fails (and they do fail).

Plus, fingerprinting can still ID you. Brave Browser’s Tor mode is a better middle ground if you want simplicity.

Otherwise, invest in a good VPN.

Thanks for all the replies! Yeah, I figured browser in browser proxy wasn’t doing much. Tried a few and kept getting blocked or just felt slower.

Gonna test out Tor + VPN like some of you suggested.

Quick Q tho—anyone know if Cloudflare’s 1.1.1.1 with WARP is any good for basic privacy? Or is it just another "feel good" tool?

Browser in browser proxy? More like "extra steps for minimal gains."

Unless the proxy is end-to-end encrypted (spoiler: most aren’t), you’re just adding a middleman who might spy on you.

For real privacy, use something like IVPN or Tor. Or just accept that total anonymity is hard.
