"Need Help: How to Turn Proxy Server Off on My Computer?"

Hey guys, so I’m kinda stuck here. My internet’s acting weird, and I think it’s cuz of some proxy settings.

I need to figure out *how to turn proxy server off* but every guide I find is way too technical. Like, why’s this so complicated?

Tried messing with Windows settings, but no luck. Anyone got a simple step-by-step? Or maybe a quick fix?

Also, does turning it off mess with anything else? Don’t wanna break my connection completely lol.

Thanks in advance! 🙏

(Using Win 10 btw, if that helps.)

Hey! I had the same issue last week. Super annoying, right?

To turn proxy server off on Win 10, go to Settings > Network & Internet > Proxy.

Under "Manual proxy setup," just toggle off "Use a proxy server."

If it’s grayed out, your admin might’ve locked it. Try running as admin or check Group Policy.

Also, this won’t break your net, don’t worry. It just stops redirecting traffic.

Hope that helps!

Yo, if you're still struggling, try this:

1. Press Win + R, type "inetcpl.cpl" (no quotes), hit Enter.
2. Go to Connections > LAN settings.
3. Uncheck "Use a proxy server for your LAN."

Boom, done.

Sometimes malware messes with proxies too, so run a scan with Malwarebytes just in case.

Let me know if it works!

Ugh, proxies can be such a pain. Here’s a quick fix:

Open Chrome (or whatever browser you use), go to Settings > System > Open proxy settings.

From there, it’s the same as Windows settings—just disable the proxy.

If it keeps resetting, might be a virus or some sketchy software. Try CCleaner to clean up junk.

Also, turning it off won’t kill your internet unless you’re *supposed* to be using one (like at work/school).

Bro, I feel you. Proxies are weirdly hidden.

For how to turn proxy server off, try this:

- Open Command Prompt as admin.
- Type "netsh winhttp reset proxy" and hit Enter.

This resets it to default (no proxy). Works like a charm for me.

If that doesn’t help, maybe your ISP is forcing it? Call them and ask.

Hey! Just wanna add—sometimes VPNs or corporate networks auto-set proxies.

If you’re using a VPN, disconnect it first, then check the proxy settings again.

Also, check out this guide on how to turn proxy server off: [link to a tech blog]. It’s super simple with pics.

And nah, disabling it won’t wreck your net. It’ll just stop hiding your IP (if that’s what the proxy was doing).

Thanks everyone! Y’all are lifesavers.

Tried the inetcpl.cpl trick and it worked! Proxy’s off now.

Weird thing tho—my browser’s still slow. Could it be something else?

Also, someone mentioned malware. Gonna run Malwarebytes later just in case.

Appreciate the help! 🙌

Dude, same prob here last month!

Try this:

Go to Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections tab > LAN settings.

Make sure "Automatically detect settings" is ON and proxy is OFF.

If it’s still weird, restart your router. Sometimes it’s not even the PC’s fault lol.

Also, check out "Proxy Switcher" tools if you toggle proxies a lot.
