"Looking for a reliable american proxy server – any recommendations?"
Hey guys, I’ve been trying to find a solid american proxy server for some light browsing and maybe streaming. Every one I’ve tried either dies after a few hours or throttles my speed to a crawl.
Anyone got a good rec? Preferably something with decent uptime and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.
Also, does location matter *that* much? Like, if I pick a server in NYC vs. LA, will it make a diff for speeds?

Yo, I’m kinda paranoid about privacy lately and need an american proxy server that’s actually secure. Free ones sketch me out, but I also don’t wanna pay for some overhyped service.
Anybody using one that doesn’t log your data or leak IPs? Bonus if it works with torrents (asking for a friend lol).
Also, is a VPN just better for this? Or do proxies still have their place?

I've been using Smartproxy for my american proxy server needs, and it's been solid for streaming and browsing. Good uptime, decent speeds, and not crazy expensive.
Location does matter a bit—NYC servers are usually faster if you're on the East Coast, but LA might be better for West Coast. Just test a few and see what works for you.

Yo, if you're paranoid about privacy, skip the free proxies. They’re sketchy as hell. I’d recommend Luminati for a secure american proxy server. They don’t log data, and their residential IPs are legit.
But honestly, if security’s your main concern, just get a VPN. Proxies are fine, but VPNs encrypt everything. Mullvad or ProtonVPN are great for torrenting too.

Weirdly, I’ve noticed the same thing! Some american proxy servers actually speed up my connection, especially if my ISP is trash. I use Oxylabs, and their US servers are consistently fast.
Could be your ISP throttling you, and the proxy bypasses it. Either way, if it works, roll with it.

Setting up an american proxy server for streaming isn’t too hard. Most sites just need the IP and port in your browser or app settings. But yeah, a lot of streaming services block proxies now.
I’d recommend using a residential proxy like GeoSurf—they’re harder to detect. Just google "how to set up proxy in [your browser]" and follow the steps.

Quick follow-up: anyone know if these work with Hulu? I keep getting blocked even with the proxy on. Is there a trick to it?

American proxy servers are hyped because US IPs unlock a ton of content, and the infrastructure’s usually better. I’ve tested EU and Asian ones, and the US ones are often faster if you’re closer geographically.
My go-to is Storm Proxies. Cheap, reliable, and good for most stuff.

Free american proxy servers are a gamble—most are slow or die fast. If you’re on a budget, try Proxy-Seller. Their shared proxies are like $2/month and work for light browsing.
But if you need speed, pay for a private one. Worth the extra few bucks.
