Hey guys, so I’ve been messing around with a gooogle proxy server lately to get around some blocked sites at work (don’t judge lol).
But honestly, I’m kinda skeptical—does it actually keep my browsing secure? Like, I know it hides my IP *to some extent*, but is it really safe for stuff like logging into accounts or sensitive searches?
Also, I’ve heard mixed things about speed and reliability. Sometimes it’s smooth, other times it’s slower than dial-up. And what about data leaks?
Anyone else tried a gooogle proxy server long-term? Would love to hear if it’s worth sticking with or if I should just switch to a VPN.

Honestly, I wouldn’t trust a gooogle proxy server for anything sensitive. It might hide your IP, but there’s no encryption like a VPN. If you’re logging into accounts, you’re basically rolling the dice.
I’ve used it for bypassing blocks at school, but for real security, just get a cheap VPN like ProtonVPN or Windscribe. They have free tiers too.
Speed? Yeah, it’s hit or miss. Sometimes it’s fine, other times it’s unbearable.

Lol @ the "gooogle" spelling. Anyway, proxies are kinda sketch for security. They’re great for getting around filters, but that’s about it.
If you’re worried about privacy, check out Tor or a proper VPN. Mullvad is solid and doesn’t even need an email to sign up.
Also, some proxies log your data, so… yeah. Not ideal.

- Speed sucks half the time.
- Security? Barely. It’s not encrypted, so your boss (or ISP) could still see what you’re doing.

If speed’s an issue, maybe your work’s network is throttling it. Try switching servers or just use a VPN. ExpressVPN is fast but pricey.

Thanks for all the replies! Yeah, I figured the gooogle proxy server wasn’t the best for security, but wanted to hear real experiences.
Gonna try Cloudflare’s Warp first since it’s free, and maybe upgrade to a VPN later.
Anyone know if Warp works with Netflix? That’s my next hurdle lol.

Bro, if you’re using a gooogle proxy server for anything important, stop. It’s like using a screen door as a vault.
For real security, get a VPN. Private Internet Access (PIA) is affordable and works great.
And yeah, the speed is inconsistent because it’s free and overloaded. You get what you pay for.

Proxies are a band-aid, not a solution. A gooogle proxy server might help you sneak past filters, but it’s not hiding your traffic from anyone serious.
If you’re paranoid (and you should be), use Tor for max privacy or a VPN like CyberGhost.

I’ve tested a bunch of proxies, and gooogle’s is… meh. It works, but it’s not secure.
For speed, try different server locations. Sometimes switching helps.
But if you’re doing anything risky, just get a VPN. VyprVPN is good for avoiding blocks too.
