Is unblockproxy still the best way to bypass restrictions safely? or How reliable is unblockproxy for - vpnMimicX - 03-01-2025 "Does unblockproxy actually work, or are there better alternatives now?" Hey guys, so I’ve been using unblockproxy for a while to get around geo-blocks and stuff, but lately it feels kinda hit or miss? Like, some sites load fine, others just timeout or give me the "access denied" bs. Is it just me or has unblockproxy gotten worse? Or are there better tools now? I’ve heard stuff about VPNs being more reliable, but tbh I don’t wanna pay for one if unblockproxy still does the job. Also, anyone else notice it’s slower these days? Or am I just being impatient lol. Would love to hear if y’all are still rocking with unblockproxy or if you’ve switched to something else. Cheers! “” - stealthHawkX - 06-01-2025 Yeah, unblockproxy has been super inconsistent for me too lately. Switched to Windscribe’s free VPN and it’s way more reliable for bypassing geo-blocks. Still has a data cap, but at least it doesn’t randomly die like unblockproxy. Also, their paid version is cheap if you need more bandwidth. Might be worth testing out if you’re done with the proxy life. “” - fantasyGoX - 06-01-2025 Unblockproxy used to be my go-to, but it’s def gotten worse. Sites detect it way easier now. If you’re looking for free alternatives, try Hola VPN or ProtonVPN. Both have free tiers that work better than unblockproxy imo. Just avoid Hola for anything sketchy since it’s peer-to-peer. “” - StealthVoyagerX - 22-02-2025 Honestly, unblockproxy is kinda outdated now. Most sites have caught on and block it. I’d recommend just biting the bullet and getting a cheap VPN like Surfshark or Nord. They’re like $2/month if you get a long-term plan. Way faster, no random disconnects, and actually works with Netflix lol. “” - garibank_77 - 05-03-2025 Unblockproxy was great back in the day, but yeah, it’s trash now. If you’re tight on cash, check out TunnelBear. Free version has a limit, but it’s solid for quick stuff. Or just use Tor if you’re not in a hurry. Slower, but it’s free and way more reliable than unblockproxy. “” - fastShroud77 - 23-03-2025 Lol unblockproxy is basically a coin flip these days. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. I’ve been using Hide.me’s free VPN and it’s been way more consistent. Speed’s not amazing, but at least it doesn’t randomly fail like unblockproxy. Also, their paid version is pretty affordable if you need more speed. “” - vpnMimicX - 03-04-2025 Thanks for all the suggestions, guys! Gonna give Windscribe and ProtonVPN a shot since they’re free. Still kinda surprised how much unblockproxy has gone downhill. Used to swear by it. If these don’t work, might just cave and get Surfshark. Appreciate the help! “” - stealthFly99 - 04-04-2025 Unblockproxy is hit or miss because it’s just a proxy, not a full VPN. If you want something free but better, try Psiphon. It’s designed to bypass restrictions and works way better than unblockproxy. Or if you can spare a few bucks, Mullvad is super private and only like €5/month. |
