Seriously tho, I'm so done with ads ruining my vibe. Every time I’m watching YT or just browsing, BAM—another unskippable ad. Ugh.
I’ve tried a few "best ad blocker android" apps, but half of them slow my phone down or don’t even work. Like, what’s the point??
Anyone found one that actually blocks YT ads *and* doesn’t make your phone lag? Bonus if it doesn’t need root—I’m not tryna mess with that.
Heard mixed things about Blokada and AdGuard. Do they still work? Or is there something better now?

Yo, I feel your pain! Ads are the worst. I’ve been using AdGuard for months now, and it’s legit one of the best ad blocker android options out there.
Blocks YT ads like a champ, and browsing is so much cleaner. Doesn’t need root, but the free version is kinda limited. The paid one’s worth it tho.
Also, try DNS filtering with something like NextDNS—works wonders for system-wide blocking.

Blokada 5 is my go-to! It’s lightweight, doesn’t slow my phone down, and kills most ads, including YT.
No root needed, just enable the VPN mode (it’s local, so no privacy worries). Only downside is YT ads sometimes slip through, but it’s rare.
For browsing, it’s flawless. Definitely one of the best ad blockers for android if you want something simple.

Honestly, just get YouTube ReVanced. It’s a modded YT app that blocks all ads, no extra ad blocker needed.
For browsing, I pair it with Firefox + uBlock Origin. Works like a dream.
Downside? It’s not on the Play Store, so you gotta sideload it. But 100% worth it if you hate ads as much as I do.

AdAway is solid if you’re cool with rooting, but since you’re not, try DNS66.
It’s FOSS, no root, and blocks most ads system-wide. Not perfect for YT, but great for browsing.
For YT, I just use NewPipe—no ads, no BS. It’s not the official app, but it gets the job done.

Mixed results with Blokada lately—YT’s been cracking down.
But I switched to AdGuard + Private DNS (dns.adguard.com), and it’s been a game-changer. Blocks most ads, including some YT ones, and zero lag.
Free option: Brave browser has built-in ad blocking. Not perfect for YT app, but great for browsing.

If you’re tech-savvy, try Pi-hole at home + VPN when you’re out. Blocks ads network-wide, so even your phone benefits.
