What's up with that? Is it cuz the site blocked the Wayback Machine?

Yeah, the wayback 403 hidden error is a pain. Usually happens when the site owner blocked archiving via robots.txt or some other method.
You can try using the "Save Page Now" feature on Wayback to see if it captures a fresh copy.
Also, check archive.today or webcitation.org as alternatives. Sometimes they have snapshots Wayback doesn’t.
