How Do I Change the Hardware Address? - fastHideX - 22-11-2024
Hey everyone!
I’ve been trying to figure out how to change hardware address on my device, but I'm a bit lost. I know it’s often referred to as changing the MAC address, but I want to make sure I'm doing it right.
Are there specific steps I should follow depending on whether I’m using Windows or Mac?
I've seen some guides online, but I want to avoid any mistakes that could mess up my connection.
If anyone has experience with how to change hardware address or tips for a smooth process, I’d really appreciate your help! Thanks! 😊

I’ve switched my MAC address on my Mac before. Just go to System Preferences > Network, select your network, click Advanced, and you can change it there. Super straightforward!

I've read that some routers might block connections if they see a MAC address that’s been changed. Just something to keep in mind when you're using a new address!

Hey there!
Changing the hardware address, or MAC address, can be done easily. If you're on Windows, just go to Device Manager, find your network adapter, right-click, and go to Properties. Under the Advanced tab, you can set a new MAC address.

Thanks for the tips, everyone! I’ll definitely try both methods—Windows and Mac. I appreciate the guidance on avoiding mistakes, too! If I run into any issues, I'll post back here. 😊

Make sure you note down your original MAC address before changing it. That way, if anything goes wrong, you can revert back easily. Also, remember to restart your connection after making the change.
