Hey! If you're on Windows 10, here's how to disable proxy settings:
Open Settings > Network & Internet > Proxy.
Under "Manual proxy setup," toggle off "Use a proxy server."
Also, make sure "Automatically detect settings" is ON.
Sometimes malware messes with proxies, so run a scan with Malwarebytes just in case.

go to control panel > internet options > connections tab > LAN settings.
uncheck "use a proxy server" and hit ok.
also, check if any VPNs are running—they can fake proxy settings too.
if ur still stuck, try resetting network settings (google how do i disable proxy windows 10 reset).

For Mac users:
Go to System Preferences > Network > Advanced > Proxies.
Uncheck ALL proxy options (HTTP, HTTPS, etc.).
Click OK and restart your browser.
If sites still won’t load, flush DNS by opening Terminal and typing "sudo dscacheutil -flushcache."

Bro, same thing happened to me!
Quick fix: press Win + R, type "inetcpl.cpl," hit Enter.
Go to Connections > LAN settings.
Make sure "Automatically detect settings" is checked and proxy server is UNCHECKED.
If that doesn’t work, your ISP might be forcing a proxy—call them.

If you’re on Windows 11:
Settings > Network & Internet > Proxy.
Turn off everything under "Manual proxy setup."
Also, try disabling any third-party firewall/antivirus—they sometimes override settings.
Still issues? Run "netsh winsock reset" in Command Prompt (admin).

Ugh, proxies are the worst.
For a nuclear option, reset your entire network:
Settings > Network & Internet > Status > Network reset.
This wipes all proxies/VPNs.
Just be warned—you’ll need to reconnect to Wi-Fi after.

Weird thing tho—my browser still acts up sometimes.
Could it be a leftover setting somewhere?
Also, how do i disable proxy for specific apps? Chrome seems to ignore system settings.
