seriously, i’ve tried everything—settings, cmd, even restarting my pc. but the proxy won’t budge. anyone else dealt with this?
i followed some online guides, but the steps keep failing. like, why’s it so complicated??
if you’ve got a fix, pls share. i’m stuck in this loop of "proxy on, proxy off" and it’s not working.
also, is there a way to just nuke it entirely? lol.

ugh, i feel you! had the same issue last week.
try this: go to Settings > Network & Internet > Proxy.
under "Manual proxy setup," toggle off "Use a proxy server."
if it’s grayed out, might be malware or some sneaky software.
run a scan with Malwarebytes—it’s free and saved me.
also, check if your browser has its own proxy settings. chrome://settings/system for Chrome.

yo, win10 can be a pain with proxies.
here’s a quick fix: open cmd as admin and paste this—
`netsh winhttp reset proxy`
hit enter, restart your pc.
this usually nukes the proxy settings entirely.
if that doesn’t work, maybe your ISP or workplace is forcing it?

bro, i had this exact problem!
turns out my VPN was overriding everything.
if you’re using a VPN, disconnect it first.
then go to Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections tab > LAN settings.
uncheck "Use a proxy server for your LAN."
also, check for any weird browser extensions. they can mess with proxies too.

hey! if you’re still stuck, try this:
press Win + R, type `inetcpl.cpl`, and hit enter.
go to the Connections tab and click "LAN settings."
make sure "Automatically detect settings" is checked
and "Use a proxy server" is UNchecked.
sometimes windows just glitches out. a system restore might help if all else fails.

have you tried resetting your network settings?
go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status > Network reset.
this’ll wipe all network configs, including proxies.
just be warned—you’ll need to reconnect to wifi after.

open regedit (carefully!) and navigate to—

i also ran Malwarebytes just in case—found a few sketchy files.
no more proxy hell!

dude, same. my proxy was stuck on bc of some sketchy adware.
download AdwCleaner (it’s free) and run it.
also, check your browsers—sometimes they set proxies independently.
firefox: options > general > network settings > no proxy.

if you’ve tried everything and it’s still on, maybe your admin locked it?
right-click start menu > system > about.
see if it says "managed by your organization."
if yes, you might need admin rights to change it.
otherwise, try booting in safe mode and disabling it there.
