Stuck with a Proxy? How to Remove a Proxy Server Properly?
Hey guys, so I’ve been dealing with this annoying proxy server setup on my PC, and I can’t figure out how to remove a proxy server for good. It’s messing with my internet speed, and some sites just won’t load.
I tried googling, but the guides are either too technical or skip steps. Anyone got a simple, step-by-step way to remove it? Like, from settings or command line?
Also, does it differ between Windows 10 and 11? Cuz I’m on Win 10 rn.

Hey! Had the same issue last week. Easiest way to remove a proxy server is through Settings > Network & Internet > Proxy.
Just toggle off "Use a proxy server" under Manual proxy setup. Works for both Win 10 and 11.
If that doesn’t work, try running "netsh winhttp reset proxy" in Command Prompt as admin. Quick fix!

Ugh, proxies are the worst. If you’re in a hurry, just open Internet Options (search it in Start), go to Connections > LAN settings, and uncheck "Use a proxy server."
Sometimes browsers override system settings, so check Chrome/Firefox too. Hope that helps!

- Open CMD as admin

- Reboot
