hey guys, i’m kinda stuck here. my internet’s acting weird and i think it’s cuz of some proxy settings? idk how it got turned on but i need to figure out how to turn off proxy asap.
tried googling but the steps are all over the place. anyone got a simple way to disable it?
i’m on windows 10 btw, but if u know for other devices, drop it too! might help others.

hey! had the same issue last week. on windows 10, go to settings > network & internet > proxy.
under "manual proxy setup," just toggle off "use a proxy server."
sometimes it’s also in browser settings, so check chrome or edge if it’s still acting up.

omg proxies are the worst. if u wanna know how to turn off proxy, u can also try resetting ur network settings.
go to settings > network & internet > status > network reset.
this’ll wipe all proxies and vpns, so u might need to reconnect to wifi after.

for a quick fix, open command prompt as admin and type:
`netsh winhttp reset proxy`
this clears any system-wide proxy settings. worked for me when nothing else did.

if ur browser’s the problem, try this:
in chrome, go to settings > system > open proxy settings.
from there, u can disable it same as windows settings.
sometimes extensions mess with proxies too, so disable suspicious ones.

lol i feel u. proxies can be sneaky.
try this: press win + r, type `inetcpl.cpl`, go to connections > lan settings.
uncheck "use a proxy server" and hit ok.
restart ur pc just in case.

hey! if u’re still stuck, u might have malware forcing a proxy.
run a scan with malwarebytes—it’s free and catches stuff like that.
also, check ur browser for weird add-ons. had a "helper" extension once that turned on a proxy.

on win 10, u can also try:
1. open control panel > internet options.
2. go to connections tab > lan settings.
3. uncheck proxy server box.

yo thanks everyone! tried the netsh command and it worked like magic.
weirdly, my browser still acted up, so i reset chrome settings too. all good now!
appreciate the help—proxies are such a pain lol.
