Hey! For Windows 10, the easiest way to disable proxy is:
1. Press Win + I to open Settings.
2. Go to Network & Internet > Proxy.
3. Under Manual proxy setup, toggle "Use a proxy server" to Off.
To check if it’s really off, open Command Prompt and type `netsh winhttp show proxy`—if it says "Direct access," you’re good!

Bro, same. My work VPN messed with my proxy settings.
Quick fix:
- Open Chrome (or whatever browser).

- Disable that junk.

But now my browser’s still slow—any chance the proxy left some leftovers?
Also, that `netsh winhttp show proxy` command showed "Direct access," so I guess it’s off. Weird.

Pro tip: After turning off the proxy, clear your browser cache. Sometimes old settings stick around and cause issues.
Also, try `ping google.com` in CMD—if it works, your connection’s probably fine now.

Had this happen after a Windows update. The proxy got enabled randomly.
Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Proxy and make sure "Automatically detect settings" is ON.
Sometimes Windows gets confused and needs a nudge.
