Need Help Setting Up ss5 Linux Socks5 Proxy – Any Tips or Tutorials? - maskedXpert_99 - 24-08-2024

Hey everyone,

So I’m trying to set up ss5 linux socks5 proxy on my VPS, but I’m kinda stuck. 😅

I followed a couple of tutorials, but either they’re outdated or I’m missing something. Anyone got a solid guide or tips for ss5 linux setup?

Also, is there a way to make it work with auth? I’m not great with config files, so any help would be *super* appreciated.

Oh, and if you’ve got any advice on optimizing ss5 linux for better speed, that’d be awesome too.

Thanks in advance, y’all! 🙏

Hey! I just went through this ss5 linux setup last week. For auth, you need to enable it in the config file and then add users in the `ss5.passwd` file. Speed-wise, try tweaking the buffer sizes and reducing the timeout values. It’s not a huge boost, but it helps.

ss5 linux is great, but the setup can be a bit of a maze. For auth, you need to edit the config file and add users manually. Speed optimization? Try reducing the number of allowed connections. It’s not perfect, but it helps. Also, check out this tutorial [link] for more details.

Hey! I feel your pain with ss5 linux setup—it can be a bit tricky. I used this guide recently, and it worked like a charm: [link]. It covers auth setup too, which is a lifesaver. For speed, try tweaking the buffer sizes in the config file. It made a huge diff for me. Good luck!

Yo, ss5 linux is a beast to configure, but once you get it, it’s smooth sailing. For auth, check out the `/etc/opt/ss5/ss5.conf` file. There’s a section for user/pass setup. Also, DigitalOcean has a solid tutorial on optimizing proxies. Might wanna give that a look.

Hey there! I had the same issue last week. For ss5 linux, I found that using `yum` or `apt` to install it makes life easier. For auth, you gotta edit the config file and add something like `auth 0.0.0.0/0 - u` and then define users below. Speed-wise, try limiting the number of connections in the config.

ss5 linux can be a headache, ngl. I used this GitHub repo [link] that has a step-by-step guide with auth setup included. Also, make sure your VPS has enough resources—ss5 can be heavy on RAM if not optimized.

Dude, ss5 linux is awesome but yeah, the setup is a pain. For auth, you need to add users in the `/etc/opt/ss5/ss5.passwd` file. As for speed, try enabling compression in the config. It’s not perfect, but it helps.

Hey! I’ve been using ss5 linux for a while now. For auth, you gotta enable it in the config file and then add users manually. Speed optimization? Try reducing the timeout values. It’s not a magic fix, but it helps. Also, check out this forum thread [link] for more tips.

ss5 linux is solid, but yeah, the setup can be confusing. For auth, you need to edit the `ss5.conf` file and add something like `permit - 0.0.0.0/0 - - - - -` for unrestricted access or set up users. For speed, try using a lighter VPS plan with better bandwidth.
