Hey everyone!
I’m trying to scrape some data for a project and was wondering *what are good proxy sites to scrape from*? I’ve tried a couple but they either get blocked super fast or are just unreliable af.
Looking for something that’s decently fast, doesn’t break the bank, and won’t die after 5 mins lol. Any recs?
Also, if you’ve got tips on avoiding bans or making the process smoother, that’d be awesome too.
Thanks in advance!
Hey! I’ve been in the same boat trying to figure out what are good proxy sites to scrape from. I’ve had decent luck with Bright Data (formerly Luminati). It’s not the cheapest, but it’s reliable and fast. They’ve got residential proxies that are harder to detect, so you’re less likely to get blocked.
For avoiding bans, rotate your IPs frequently and use random delays between requests. Also, spoof your user-agent headers—it helps a ton.
Yo, I’d recommend Oxylabs for scraping. A bit pricey but worth it if you need consistent uptime. They’ve got a huge pool of IPs, so you’re less likely to hit a wall.
As for tips, try to mimic human behavior—randomize your click patterns and don’t scrape too aggressively. Also, use a headless browser like Puppeteer if you’re dealing with JS-heavy sites.
I’ve been using Smartproxy for a while now, and it’s been solid for scraping. It’s affordable compared to some others, and the speeds are decent. They’ve got residential and datacenter proxies, so you can pick what works for your project.
To avoid bans, I’d suggest using a CAPTCHA solver if the site throws those at you. Also, keep your request rate low—don’t go ham on the server lol.
If you’re looking for something budget-friendly, check out Proxy-Seller. It’s not as fancy as some of the big names, but it gets the job done for basic scraping tasks.
For avoiding blocks, try using a VPN alongside your proxies. It adds an extra layer of anonymity. Also, clear your cookies regularly—some sites track that stuff.
I’ve been scraping with Soax proxies, and they’ve been pretty reliable. They’ve got a good mix of residential and mobile proxies, which helps if you’re scraping sites that are picky about IPs.
Pro tip: Use a tool like Scrapy or BeautifulSoup with your proxies. They make the whole process way smoother. And yeah, don’t forget to randomize your request intervals—it’s a lifesaver.
Thanks for all the suggestions, everyone! I ended up trying out Bright Data and Smartproxy based on your recs, and they’ve been working pretty well so far. Still tweaking the settings to avoid bans, but the random delays and header spoofing tips have been a huge help.
Quick question though—anyone know if there’s a way to test proxy speeds before committing to a plan? Some of these sites don’t offer trials, and I don’t wanna waste money on something slow. Thanks again!
For scraping, I’d say give Storm Proxies a shot. They’re not as well-known, but they’re affordable and work well for smaller projects.
To avoid bans, try to scrape during off-peak hours when the server load is lower. Also, use a mix of proxies—don’t rely on just one type. Rotate them often to stay under the radar.
I’ve had good results with GeoSurf for scraping. They’ve got a ton of geo-targeted proxies, which is great if you need data from specific regions.
As for avoiding bans, make sure you’re not sending too many requests from the same IP. Use a proxy rotation tool to switch things up automatically. And yeah, keep your headers realistic—don’t make it obvious you’re scraping.
