Are Luminati Proxies Still the Best Choice for Reliable and Scalable Web Scraping?

16 Replies, 2008 Views

Hey guys, been using luminati proxies for a while now for web scraping, and honestly, they’ve been pretty solid. But lately, I’ve been hearing mixed stuff about whether they’re still the go-to for reliable and scalable scraping.

Anyone else feel like the competition’s catching up? Or are luminati proxies still king? I mean, they’re def not the cheapest, but the uptime and geo-targeting are hard to beat.

Also, anyone run into issues with captchas or blocks recently? Wondering if it’s just me or if others are seeing the same.

Would love to hear your thoughts! Are luminati proxies still worth it, or are there better options out there now?

Cheers!
Yo, I’ve been using luminati proxies for about a year now, and honestly, they’ve been pretty consistent for me. The geo-targeting is still top-notch, and I haven’t had too many issues with captchas.

That said, I’ve been testing out Oxylabs recently, and their residential proxies are giving luminati a run for their money. They’re a bit cheaper, and the speed is comparable. Might be worth checking out if you’re looking for alternatives.
Luminati proxies are solid, but yeah, the competition is definitely catching up. I’ve been using Smartproxy for a few months now, and it’s been great for scraping without too many blocks.

The pricing is way better, and their customer support is super responsive. If you’re looking to save some cash and still get reliable scraping, I’d say give Smartproxy a shot.
I’ve been in the same boat as you. Luminati proxies were my go-to for years, but lately, I’ve been running into more captchas and blocks than usual.

I switched to Bright Data (formerly Luminati) and it’s been a game-changer. Their proxy network is massive, and the geo-targeting is just as good, if not better. Plus, their dashboard is way more user-friendly.
Honestly, luminati proxies are still king when it comes to uptime and geo-targeting, but they’re not the only option anymore. I’ve been using Soax for smaller projects, and it’s been working great.

It’s not as scalable as luminati, but for the price, it’s a solid alternative. If you’re doing heavy-duty scraping, though, I’d stick with luminati.
I’ve been using luminati proxies for a while, and yeah, they’re reliable, but the cost is starting to feel a bit steep. I’ve been experimenting with Proxy-Cheap for some of my smaller scraping tasks, and it’s been surprisingly good.

It’s not as robust as luminati, but for the price, it’s hard to complain. If you’re on a budget, it’s worth a look.
Luminati proxies are still my top choice for large-scale scraping, but I’ve been hearing good things about NetNut. Their residential proxies are fast, and they claim to have fewer blocks and captchas.

I haven’t fully switched yet, but I’m considering it for my next project. Might be worth testing out if you’re looking for something new.
I’ve been using luminati proxies for years, and they’ve been great, but I agree that the competition is heating up. I’ve been testing out GeoSurf for some of my geo-targeted scraping, and it’s been pretty solid.

The pricing is competitive, and the performance is on par with luminati. If you’re looking for a reliable alternative, GeoSurf is worth a try.
Thanks for all the insights, everyone! I’ve been looking into some of the alternatives you mentioned, especially Bright Data and Smartproxy. I think I’ll give Bright Data a shot for my next project since a few of you seem to have had good experiences with it.

Also, has anyone tried rotating proxies with luminati? I’ve heard they’re better for avoiding captchas, but I’m not sure if it’s worth the extra cost. Would love to hear your thoughts! Cheers!
