Title: Curious: What Are the US States With the Most YouTube Users by Country?

Hey everyone!

So I was digging around and got kinda curious—does anyone know which us states most youtube users by country come from? Like, is it Cali or Texas leading the pack? Or maybe some surprise states?

I feel like population plays a role, but maybe internet access or even local trends matter too. Couldn’t find solid stats tho.

Anyone got insights or guesses? Or even better, actual data? Would love to hear thoughts!

(Also, if this has been asked before, my bad—point me to the thread pls!)

Thanks! 🍿
Interesting question! I’d guess California and Texas are at the top for us states most youtube users by country just because of their huge populations. But I wouldn’t sleep on states like Florida or New York—big cities mean lots of viewers.

You might wanna check out Google Trends or some of YouTube’s own analytics tools. They sometimes break down data by region.

Also, internet access is def a factor. Rural states might lag behind.
Lol, I bet it’s California. Everyone and their mom is making content there.

But seriously, I think population density + tech hubs play a big role. Maybe try looking up “us states most youtube users by country” on Statista or Pew Research? They usually have solid data on this stuff.
I’ve actually seen some stats on this before! California, Texas, and New York are the big three for us states most youtube users by country.

But here’s a wild card—Utah has a surprisingly high engagement rate. Maybe ’cause of all the family vloggers?

If you want hard numbers, SEMrush or SimilarWeb might help. They track traffic sources.
Population def matters, but don’t forget about age demographics. Younger states like Colorado or Washington might have more YouTube users per capita.

Also, internet speed is huge. States with better infrastructure (looking at you, Virginia) probably have higher usage.

No idea where to find exact stats tho. Maybe someone else has a source?
Cali is probs #1, but I’d love to see the data broken down by % of population. Like, sure, Texas has tons of people, but what if Vermont has more YouTube users per capita?

Try searching for “us states most youtube users by country” on Data.ai (used to be App Annie). They’ve got some cool insights.
I feel like this is one of those things where the answer is obvious (California) but also kinda surprising. Like, what if Alaska has the highest watch time because there’s nothing else to do?

Jokes aside, YouTube’s own reports sometimes mention regional stats. Worth a look!
Honestly, I’d bet on states with big universities. College kids binge YouTube like crazy. So Michigan, Illinois, or Pennsylvania could be up there.

No idea where to find the data, but now I’m curious too. Following this thread!
It’s gotta be Cali, right? Silicon Valley, LA creators, all that. But I wonder if states with lower costs of living (like Georgia) are seeing a rise in YouTube users because more people can afford to create content.

Try digging into some marketing reports—Neil Patel’s blog sometimes covers this stuff.
Thanks for all the replies, everyone! Super helpful.

I checked out Google Trends and SEMrush like some of y’all suggested, and yeah, California is crushing it for us states most youtube users by country. But Utah and Colorado were higher than I expected—cool insight!

Still curious about per capita stats tho. If anyone finds those, lmk!

(Also, lol @ the Alaska comment. Now I wanna see those watch time numbers.)
