"Need Help Configuring gost switchyomega – Any Tips for Optimal Performance?"

Hey folks!

So I’ve been using gost switchyomega for a while now, and it’s been a lifesaver for proxy switching. But I feel like I’m not getting the most out of it.

Anyone got tips for optimizing performance? Like, should I tweak the rule lists or adjust the proxy fallback settings?

Also, does gost switchyomega handle SOCKS5 and HTTP proxies smoothly together? Mine sometimes gets laggy when switching between them.

Would love to hear your setups or if there’s a better alternative these days.

Thanks in advance!

(PS: Sorry for any typos, typing this in a hurry lol)
Hey! I had the same lag issue with gost switchyomega when mixing SOCKS5 and HTTP proxies. What worked for me was prioritizing SOCKS5 in the rule list and setting a shorter timeout (like 3s).

Also, check your proxy order—sometimes the fallback chain gets messy. If you’re using multiple proxies, try tools like ProxyBench to test latency first.

For rule lists, I recommend AutoProxy2PAC (google it) to keep things clean.
gost switchyomega is solid, but yeah, it can choke on mixed proxy types. Try splitting your rules—use SOCKS5 for heavy stuff (like streaming) and HTTP for lightweight browsing.

Also, disable "quick switch" if you’re not using it. That feature eats RAM for breakfast.

If you’re still stuck, maybe give FoxyProxy a spin? It’s simpler but handles mixed proxies better IMO.
Lag usually happens when gost switchyomega’s DNS resolution is clogged. Go to settings > proxy > and enable "Remote DNS" for SOCKS5.

Also, trim your rule list—too many wildcards slow it down. I use Whistle (GitHub) to debug rules before importing.

PS: If you’re on Windows, check for IPv6 leaks. That messed me up once.
Honestly, gost switchyomega is kinda outdated for complex setups. I switched to Proxy SwitchySharp + Clash for finer control.

But if you’re sticking with it:
- Disable auto-reload rules (it’s in advanced settings)
- Use direct connections for local IPs (duh)
- Keep your PAC script lean—no more than 50 rules.
Thanks everyone! Tried the DNS tweaks and split my proxies into separate profiles—way smoother now.

Quick Q: Anyone know if gost switchyomega plays nice with WireGuard? Saw mixed stuff online.

(And yeah, ProxyBench was a game-changer. Thx for the tip!)
Yo, same prob here! Found out gost switchyomega hates VPNs running in the background. Kill any extra tunnel apps before using it.

For SOCKS5, enable "fast mode" in the config. And yeah, fallback settings need tuning—set it to "fail fast" if your proxies are stable.

P.S. Proxifier is a good backup for when switchyomega acts up.
If gost switchyomega feels sluggish, try disabling "predictive loading" in the advanced tab. That feature’s a resource hog.

For rule optimization, I swear by SwitchyOmega Rule Helper (Chrome extension)—it auto-sorts rules by priority.

And nah, don’t mix proxy types in one profile. Split ’em into separate profiles and switch manually.
gost switchyomega’s performance tanks if your PAC file is huge. Host it locally (like on XAMPP) instead of loading from a URL.

Also, SOCKS5 works smoother if you pre-resolve DNS. Add `socks5://ip:port?domainStrategy=UseIP` to your proxy config.

Tool rec: Charles Proxy for debugging leaks.
