Hey everyone,
So I’m trying to use 'import requests python on mac' but keep hitting errors. Like, it just won’t recognize the module even after I pip installed it.
Tried:
- `pip install requests` (says it’s already there)
- Reinstalling Python + requests
- Checking PATH stuff (kinda confusing ngl)
Still getting "ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'requests'"... ugh.
Anyone else run into this? Is it a Mac-specific thing or am I missing something obvious?
Thanks in advance!
(Using macOS Monterey btw, Python 3.9 if that helps.)
Hey! Had the same issue with import requests python on mac. Turns out I had multiple Python versions installed, and pip was installing to the wrong one.
Try running `which python3` and `which pip` in terminal to check paths. If they don’t match, you might need to use `python3 -m pip install requests` instead.
Also, virtual environments can save you from this mess—`python3 -m venv myenv` then `source myenv/bin/activate` before installing.
Hope that helps!
Ugh, the "import requests python on mac" struggle is real. Monterey can be weird with permissions.
Did you try installing with `--user` flag? Like `pip install requests --user`? Sometimes Mac’s system Python gets fussy about global installs.
Also, maybe check if you’re accidentally using Python 2? Run `python --version` to confirm. If it’s 2.x, that’s your issue—Python 3 is the way to go.
Yo! For import requests python on mac, I’d recommend using Homebrew to manage Python. It keeps things cleaner.
First, `brew install python` to get the latest version. Then `pip3 install requests`.
If you’re still stuck, PyCharm’s IDE has a great package manager built-in—might be worth a shot if terminal isn’t your thing.
This drove me nuts too! For import requests python on mac, here’s what worked:
1. Uninstall requests completely (`pip uninstall requests`)
2. Install it again with `pip3 install requests` (explicitly use pip3)
3. Restart your terminal—sometimes it’s just a session thing.
If that fails, maybe try Anaconda? It handles dependencies way better than vanilla Python.
Hey! Random thought—are you running the script in the same terminal where you installed requests?
For import requests python on mac, I’ve seen cases where people install in one window and run in another, and the env vars don’t carry over.
Also, `python3 -c "import requests; print(requests.__version__)"` is a quick test to see if it’s even recognized.
Not sure if this’ll help, but for import requests python on mac, I had to mess with my shell config.
If you’re using zsh (default on newer Macs), add this to `~/.zshrc`:
`export PATH="/usr/local/opt/python/libexec/bin:$PATH"`
Then `source ~/.zshrc` and reinstall requests. Weird, but fixed it for me!
UPDATE: Whoa, thanks for all the tips! Tried the `python3 -m pip install requests` trick and it worked—turns out my pip was pointing to the wrong Python install.
Still weird that import requests python on mac needs this extra step, but hey, it’s running now.
Quick Q: Should I just stick to `python3 -m pip` for everything from now on? Feels safer but idk if it’s overkill.
Also, gonna try PyCharm next time—terminal stuff is a pain. Thanks again!
