Wow, thanks for all the suggestions, everyone! I tried turning down the particle effects and shadows like someone mentioned, and it actually helped a ton. The mega crack glitch hasn’t happened since!
I also updated my GPU drivers and cleared the game cache, so maybe that did the trick too. Still not sure why it happens, but at least it’s manageable now.
Quick question though—has anyone noticed if the mega crack glitch happens more with certain GPUs? I’m on an older card, so I’m wondering if that’s part of the issue.
