So I’m trying to figure out which is better for my needs: socks proxy vs http proxy. I’ve been reading up on both, but tbh, it’s kinda confusing.
From what I gather, socks proxy is more versatile since it can handle any type of traffic, not just web stuff. But HTTP proxy seems more specific to, well, HTTP traffic (duh lol).
I’m mostly using it for browsing and maybe some gaming, so idk if I need the extra flexibility of a socks proxy. But then again, I don’t wanna limit myself if I decide to do more later.
Anyone got experience with socks proxy vs http proxy? Which one do you prefer for general use? Or am I overthinking this?
