So, I’ve been thinking about this whole *fake ip* thing lately. Like, does it *actually* keep you anonymous online? I mean, I get the idea—using a fake ip to mask your real location sounds cool and all, but is it really foolproof?
I’ve tried a couple of those free VPNs that claim to give you a fake ip, but idk, it feels kinda sketchy. Like, what if the service itself logs your data? Or what if websites can still track you through cookies or browser fingerprints?
Also, doesn’t using a fake ip slow down your connection sometimes? I’ve noticed that, and it’s annoying af.
What do y’all think? Is a fake ip enough to stay under the radar, or do you need to combine it with other tools? Or is it just a false sense of security?
