Thanks so much for all the replies, everyone! I think I’m gonna give JDownloader a try after reading your experiences. I’ll make sure to download it from the official site and use an ad blocker to avoid those sketchy ads.
Quick question though—anyone know if the portable version is just as safe as the regular one? I’m thinking of trying that first to see how it goes. Also, thanks for the alternative suggestions! I’ll definitely check out Xtreme Download Manager if JDownloader doesn’t work out.
