How to Set Up and Use a Linux curl Proxy for Secure Web Requests?

Hey folks,

So, I’ve been messing around with linux curl proxy setups lately, and thought I’d share some tips for anyone trying to get it working. Basically, if you wanna use a proxy with curl on Linux, it’s pretty straightforward but can be a bit confusing if you’re new to it.

First, you gotta know your proxy details—like the IP, port, and if it needs auth (username/password). Then, just slap it into your curl command like this:

```bash
curl -x http://proxyIP:port -U username:password https://example.com
```

If your proxy doesn’t need auth, just skip the `-U` part. Oh, and if you’re dealing with HTTPS, make sure your proxy supports it, or you’ll get weird errors.

Also, you can set it up globally by exporting env vars like `http_proxy` or `https_proxy`. Super handy if you’re doing a bunch of requests.

Anyway, hope this helps someone out! Let me know if you’ve got other tricks for linux curl proxy setups. Cheers!
