Does the browser need to be launched with the global proxy to work properly?

Hey everyone,
Quick question: does the browser needs to be launched with the global proxy to work properly? I’ve been messing around with some proxy settings, and I’m not sure if I’m doing it right.

Like, if I set up the proxy globally on my system, do I still need to make sure the browser needs to be launched with the global proxy? Or does it just pick it up automatically?

Also, does it depend on the browser? I’m using Chrome rn, but idk if Firefox or others handle it differently.

Kinda confused, ngl. Any tips or experiences would be super helpful!
