Honestly, I was in the same boat with the whole puppeteer vs playwright thing. I started with Puppeteer because, like you said, it’s the OG and the docs are great. But then I switched to Playwright for a project that needed multi-browser testing, and man, it’s a game-changer.
Playwright’s built-in test runner and the fact that it supports Chromium, Firefox, AND WebKit out of the box just made my life so much easier. If you’re just starting out, I’d say go with Playwright. It’s more future-proof, and the learning curve isn’t that steep.
