I’ve been using "Instander" as a 3rd party Instagram app ad blocker, and it’s been great! It’s a modded version of Instagram, so it blocks ads and has some cool extra features like downloading posts.
It’s free, but you have to sideload it since it’s not on the app store. Just make sure you get it from a trusted source like their official website.
No bans so far, but yeah, there’s always a risk with modded apps.
