Wow, thanks everyone for the detailed replies! I think I get it now—WiFi proxy is like a simpler version of a VPN, but without the encryption. I tried setting up a proxy using FoxyProxy, and it worked pretty smoothly.
One follow-up question though: if I use a WiFi proxy on my router, does it apply to all devices connected to it? Or do I need to configure each device separately?
