Does Using a Shopify Residential IP Improve Store Performance and Security?

Yo, so I’ve been hearing a lot about this Shopify residential IP thing lately. Like, does it *actually* make a difference for store performance and security? Or is it just another buzzword?

From what I’ve gathered, using a Shopify residential IP *might* help with stuff like reducing bot traffic and improving load times since it’s tied to a legit residential network. But idk, feels like it’s kinda overhyped unless you’re dealing with serious scaling or security issues.

Also, isn’t Shopify already pretty secure on its own? Like, do we *really* need to mess with IPs and all that? Feels like extra work for minimal gains, tbh.

What do y’all think? Anyone actually tried using a Shopify residential IP and noticed a difference? Or is it just me being skeptical? 🤔
